The whole of Munga-Thirri National Park (Queensland section of the Simpson Desert) is closed for the summer season and will reopen 6.00pm Sunday 14 March 2021. The purpose of the closure is in the interest of public safety due to anticipated high daytime temperatures during the summer months.
