Storm damage - Lamington National Park partially open

This alert applies to the following parks:
- Gold Coast Hinterland Great WalkBrisbane; Gold Coast
- Lamington National ParkBrisbane; Gold Coast
Following storm damage, some walking tracks within Lamington National Park have reopened, while others remain temporarily closed until declared safe. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall have caused numerous fallen trees and other hazards.
QPWS rangers are currently working on repairs. Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
Open walking tracks in the Binna Burra section:
- Caves circuit
- Coomera circuit
- Daves Creek circuit
- Rainforest circuit
- Tullawallal circuit
- Border Track
- Lower and Upper Ballunjui track
- The Ship Stern circuit with a CAUTION as there are large tree falls on the track.
Open walking tracks in the Green Mountains section:
- Centenary track
- Forestry camp track
- Morans Falls track
- Python Rock track
- Rainforest return
- Border Track
- Box Forest circuit
Closed walking tracks in the Binna Burra section:
- Araucaria lookout track
- Illinbah circuit (fire damage as per separate Park Alert)
- Gwonogoorool track (fire damage as per separate Park Alert)
- Lower Bellbird circuit (fire damage as per separate Park Alert)
- Mount Hobwee circuit
- Wagawn track
Closed walking tracks in the Green Mountains section:
- Albert River circuit
- Toolona Creek circuit
- West Canungra Creek circuit
Gold Coast Hinterland Great walk:
- The Gold Coast Hinterland Great walk is open
For your safety please use caution whilst visiting the park—while some walking tracks have reopened, bushwalkers may still encounter falling trees or recently fallen trees due to the soft, saturated ground, and rising or fast flowing creeks. Remember—if it's flooded, forget it, even on our walking tracks!
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
