As a result of expected adverse weather events experienced over the warmer months, a seasonal restriction on bookings for Cooloola Great Walk and Cooloola Wilderness Trail is implemented yearly from 30 November to 28 February.
Adverse weather, including high fire danger conditions, storm damage and flooding pose an unacceptable risk to the safety of walkers in remote areas and some walking tracks may be closed at short notice. Restrictions on forward bookings are limited to fourteen days in advance only and intended to reduce any impact on visitors if any walking tracks are closed at short notice.
This restriction affects:
- Cooloola Great Walk
- Cooloola Wilderness Trail
- All Cooloola Great Walk and Cooloola Wilderness Trail campsites
- Cooloola Sandpatch walk
During the seasonal restriction, Rangers will regularly assess the walking track conditions.
For your safety, please do not enter these closed areas and observe all signage and directions from rangers.
