This alert applies to the following park:

A timely reminder as we move into the warmer months, to please consider your preparedness and fitness levels before undertaking the Carnarvon Great Walk.

You must be prepared to walk long distances in remote areas. Emergency assistance and communications are not readily available along many parts of the Carnarvon Great Walk. If you have any doubts about your fitness levels or preparedness, you may instead consider one of the many short-walk options such as the Carnarvon Gorge day-use area to Big Bend return walk.

Thank you and please remember to stay safe when visiting Carnarvon National Park.
