This alert applies to the following park:
- Kroombit Tops National ParkGladstone; Outback Queensland; Bundaberg
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct a planned burn, weather permitting, in the week commencing 27/07/2020, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests.
Please note this burn was originally proposed for 13th - 16th July but now postponed until the last week of July.
These burns are being undertaken to help protect life and property in the event of a wildfire.
Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of the Razorback Track. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.
During the planned burn these areas are closed to public access:
- The Razorback Track, south of the Razorback Camping Area to the park boundary.
Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
Access to the Razorback Camping Area is open from Tableland Rd during this period.
All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure.
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
