Cooloola Wilderness Trail partially open

This alert applies to the following park:
- Cooloola Recreation Area, Great Sandy National ParkSunshine Coast
The Cooloola Wilderness Trail is now partially open including Neebs Waterhole and Wandi Waterhole camping areas. Fig Tree Point camping area is only accessible from the north.
Until further notice, Fig Tree walk is closed. Fig Tree Point camping and day use area are accessible but not via Figtree walk which crosses Kin Kin Creek, as the bridge was washed away. Planning for a new bridge is underway.
QPWS rangers are currently working on repairs. Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
