Wet season closure: North and South Jardine and Eliot Falls camping areas, Jardine River National Park and Heathlands Resources Reserve

This alert applies to the following park:
- Jardine River National Park, Heathlands Resources Reserve and Jardine River Resources ReserveTropical North Queensland
Due to on-site local conditions with wet season rainfall, sections of the access to North and South Jardine camping areas have become impassable and there is risk of being flooded in or cut-off at these camping areas. North and South Jardine camping areas in Jardine River National Park have been closed for the wet season. The Eliot Falls camping area in Heathlands Resources Reserve is also closed for the peak of the wet season, however Fruit Bat Falls day-use area remains open for those within the local area and as weather conditions permit. Caution should be applied if swimming as creek levels and water flow may vary rapidly and visibility in the water will likely be affected.
North and South Jardine camping areas are expected to reopen on 1 June 2021 and Eliot Falls camping area on 1 April 2021, depending on local conditions.
