Mount Beerwah Summit Route temporarily closed

Applies until 24 February 2020.

This alert applies to the following parks:

The main summit access route on Mount Beerwah is temporarily closed following a period of very high rainfall. The route is closed below the overhang on the northern face and above the picnic area. This closure is a precautionary measure following high rainfall events. The risk of large rock fall above the summit route is much higher after heavy rain. The route will be closed for a minimum of 7 days. During this time, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will assess the route for any rock fall. If no rock falls are observed, the route will be re-opened. There are signs informing visitors of the closure at the site and barriers in place at the picnic area. For your safety, please do not enter the closed area. Visitors found entering the closed area may be issued with an on-the-spot fine of $533.
