Planned burn - Minerva Hills National Park

Applies until 28 February 2020.

This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct a planned burn from Monday the 10th of February 2020, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests.

These burns are being undertaken to help protect life and property in the event of a wildfire.

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Springsure, the Gregory Highway, Dawson Developmental Road and Dendle Drive. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.

During the planned burn these areas are closed to public access:

  • Fred's Gorge day use area
  • Norwood Creek day use area
  • Springsure Lookout
  • Eclipse Lookout
  • Skyline Lookout
  • Dendle Drive

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
