Local Fire Ban: prohibition on the lighting, maintenance and use of open fires

Applies until 15 November 2019.

This alert applies to the following parks:

Due to the current fire conditions and weather forecasts issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, a Local Fire Ban has been imposed by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service for Glen Rock State Forest. Open fires must not be lit anywhere on the park. Open fires are defined as wood fires that are not fully self-contained (including open campfires and fire in braziers, drums, other open containers and QPWS-supplied fire-rings and barbeques). Ash-producing fuels, heat beads, Oz-pigs and similar appliances cannot be used during this fire ban. Visitors must comply with fire prohibition guidelines and directions given from QPWS rangers. Penalties may apply for non-compliance.

Further information on Fire Bans can be found on the Rural Fire website www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au. Notify QPWS of any breaches in QPWS protected areas by calling 13 QGOV (13 74 68). To report any wildfires call 000.
