Fire Prohibition for all Gold Coast and Hinterland Parks

Applies until 11 November 2019.

This alert may no longer be current. Please check the parks listed below for new or updated advice.

This alert applies to the following parks:

Until further notice, open fires must not be lit anywhere in the above mentioned protected areas. A fire ban prohibiting the lighting of fires in the open is currently in place from Tuesday 5 November to Midnight Saturday 9 November 2019 for the Gold Coast, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Logan, Scenic Rim and Somerset Local Government Areas.

The fire prohibition is in place due to a Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ) imposed fire ban. It will remain in place until the risk of wildfire moderates. Please refer to the Declaration of Fire Ban (PDF) for full details and any exemptions.

Open fires are defined as: wood fires that are not fully self-contained, including open campfires and fires in braziers, drums, other open containers, and QPWS supplied fire-rings and barbeques.

Visitors must comply with fire prohibition guidelines and directions of QPWS rangers—penalties may apply.
