Bushfire closures

Applies until 13 December 2019.

This alert applies to the following parks:

The Cooloola Great Walk and Cooloola Wilderness Trail - all walkers camps, and the walking track from campsite 3 to Cooloola Sandpatch are temporarily closed until further notice due to a recent bushfire caused by an abandoned campfire near Red Canyon, Teewah Beach.

Harry’s Hut day-use area is open, and there is partial opening of the Harry’s Hut camping area from 2 November 2019 with 8 vehicle access and 4 river access camp sites open.

A Total Fire Prohibition is still in place across the Cooloola Recreation Area.

Visitors must comply with closures, fire prohibition, signage and directions of QPWS rangers—penalties may apply.
