Moogerah Peaks National Park closed

Applies until 17 September 2019.

This alert applies to the following parks:

Moogerah Peaks National Park is closed from Wednesday 4th September until Monday 16th September 2019 (inclusive) for safety reasons due to the severe drought conditions and increased fire danger.

All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure. Apply for a camping permit refund online at www.qld.gov.au/camping. Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.

The volatile vegetation types, remote location and topography of the Moogerah Peaks mean that this area is particularly vulnerable to severe wildfires in these conditions.

Rangers will review this closure on Monday 16th September and will reopen if conditions improve. Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
