Fire prohibition

Applies until 22 November 2019.

This alert applies to the following parks:

Until further notice, open fires must not be lit anywhere in the protected area. Open fires are defined as: wood fires that are not fully self-contained, including open campfires and fires in braziers, drums, other open containers, and QPWS supplied fire-rings and barbeques. It will remain in place until the risk of wildfire moderates. Permitted cooking and heating appliances include fuel stoves using manufactured fuels (e.g. LPG, hexamine fuel blocks, briquettes or heat beads). Appliances must be: Off the ground (recommended minimum height 200mm) and should not result in ash or coal deposit on the ground. Fully self-contained unit (e.g. Ozpig heating appliance). Well away from vegetation. Visitors must comply with fire prohibition guidelines and directions of QPWS rangers penalties may apply.
