Applies until 28 October 2019.

This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will be commencing Stage 2 works of the Mon Repos Turtle Centre redevelopment from August 2019. In Stage 2, Rookery Road and a section of the Turtle Trail will be getting upgraded as well as the visitor centre surrounds, amphitheatre and boardwalks. • The Turtle Trail will be closed at Moores Rd and Mon Repos Rd. Cyclists will need to detour around the park altogether at these points.
  • Cyclists can chose to detour via Moores Road, Mittlehauser Rd and Mon Repos Road to rejoin the Turtle Trail.
  • A detour for pedestrians onto Mon Repos beach will be in place allowing walkers to reconnect with the Turtle Trail. This detour will use the boardwalk at the beach entry/exit from Mon Repos Road and the beach entry/exit on the northern section of Mon Repos beach.
  • Signage will be in place to advise of closure and detours.

Please observe all signage and barriers, and do not enter closed areas.

Your safety is our concern, but your responsibility.
