Tewantin National Park planned burn activities

Applies until 13 July 2019.

This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service intend to conduct planned burn activities in Tewantin National Park between Wednesday 12 June and Friday 12 July. During this time the national park will have track closures. The aim of these burns is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas. This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration. As a result, smoke may be seen in the areas surrounding Tewantin. Observe all signs, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
