Temporary camping area closure and visitor advice: 2019 World Rafting Championships 13-20 May, Tully Gorge National Park

This alert applies to the following parks:

Due to hosting the 2019 World Rafting Championships, the following closures and restrictions will apply to Tully Gorge National Park, west of the Tully River bridge from 13 May to 20 May 2019:

  • No general public vehicle access will be permitted west of the Tully River bridge near the intersection of Cardstone and North Davidson Roads. Buses will transport spectators from this location to the 2019 World Rafting Championships on the Tully River.
  • No public use of the Tully Gorge camping area is permitted during this period.

In addition, visitors are advised that prior to and after these dates, there may also be preparation and removal works occurring. These will not restrict access and there will be appropriate signs in place advising you of the situation.

Access to the Coachable Creek camping area and the Misty Mountains trail network will remain open via the H-Road turn-off, east of the Tully River bridge on Cardstone Road.
