Pest management control program--Mount Moffatt and Ka Ka Mundi sections, Carnarvon National Park.

This alert applies to the following parks:

QPWS pest management control programs are planned to commence from 18 March to 22 March 2019. All control activities are conducted in accordance with Carnarvon National Park management plan and help to protect native plants and wildlife. Firearms, herbicides, traps or poisons may be in use.

As a result, the following areas are temporarily close for the duration of the pest management program:

  • Mt Moffatt section
  • Carnarvon Great Walk
  • Ka Ka Mundi section

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.

All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure. To apply for a refund or camping credit, contact camping support at qpws@des.qld.gov.au or call (07) 3330 5016. Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
