Tilapia control: Lake Barrine, Crater Lakes National Park

This alert applies to the following parks:

On Sunday 11 February 2019, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service rangers, in conjunction with the Cairns Underwater and Spearfishing Association and Lake Barrine Teahouse vessel, will be undertaking spearfishing operations to reduce / remove Tilapia mariae, a noxious fish species. Lake users are reminded to be vigilant if undertaking activities on the Lake and ensure signage and directions are followed.
