Camping at Girraween National Park - update for January to April 2019

This alert applies to the following parks:

Due to a lack of rainfall, Girraween National Park has had to put water conservation measures in place. Consequently, Bald Rock Creek and Castle Rock camping areas are temporarily closed.

The camping areas will:

  • re-open for the Australia Day long weekend, 25–27 January 2019 (inclusive)
  • be closed on 28 January and remain closed until Thursday 4 April 2019, when they will re-open for the school holidays
  • operate at half capacity with no showers provided when open
  • re-open as early as possible, once substantial rainfall is received.

The park will remain open to day use activities, and remote walk-in campsites can still be booked. Campers are asked to be mindful of water use.

Please monitor park alerts for updates.
