Gwongorella picnic area now open

This alert applies to the following parks:

The Gwongorella picnic area and car park is now open. However, the Gwongorella redevelopment project is not yet fully complete, as we await the arrival of the new signage package - so watch this space! In the meantime, temporary signage is in place.

Please note the following important changes:

  • Entry to Gwongorella car park is now via Kuralboo Street;
  • The car park road is one-way only, with a separate entry and exit. Obey all traffic management signs;
  • The parking is formalised with designated parking bays. Overflow parking is available along Kuralboo Street; and
  • The main loop path within Gwongorella picnic area, including barbeque facilities in the picnic shelter, are wheelchair compliant.

The Gwongorella redevelopment project complements the recent works undertaken to restore the Purling Brook Falls circuit walking track.

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas. Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.

Alternative car parking, visitor facilities, and entrance to Purling Brook Falls circuit is also available via The Settlement day-use area, Carricks Road. Please use the Springbrook National Park map (PDF, 333K) for directions to The Settlement day-use area. Alternatively seek directions to 35 Carricks Road, Springbrook on Google Maps.
