Extensive stands of mangroves present throughout estuary; saltmarsh.
Commercial, recreational and Indigenous fishing; barramundi; blue salmon; bream; estuary cod; grey mackerel; grunter; mangrove jack; queenfish; school mackerel; whiting; blue-legged king prawns; tiger prawns; mud crabs.
Adjoining Melaleuca forests.
